Mary B. Considine joined Fisher House Foundation in 2004, after having served as a volunteer for several years. She has assisted with the growth of the organization from a staff of only three to diverse and dedicated nonprofit team providing support for over 20,000 military and Veterans’ families each year.
Prior to joining the Foundation, Mary worked at the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage. While at Smithsonian, she was a part of the program team for multiple Folklife Festivals, the dedication of the World War II Monument, and the grand opening of the National Museum of the American Indian in Washington DC.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from University of Virginia, and a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from the Schar School of Policy & Government at George Mason University. While studying in Charlottesville, Virginia, Mary began her career in service as a volunteer member of the Appalachian Search and Rescue Conference, the Alert Dispatch Officer for the Blue Ridge Mountain Rescue Group (BRMRG), and then as a member of the BRMRG Board of Directors.
Mary currently resides in Fairfax, Virginia.
